Founded by Cristobal Balenciaga in 1917, the Balenciaga house is defined by a worldwide recognition as a leader in major fashion trends due to its creativity, masterful cuts and exquisite techniques. Since October 2015, Demna Gvasalia, appointed artistic director of Balenciaga's collections, continues to uphold the vision, influence and radical style of the House. NEO's rimless lenses are pierced by a metal bridge and temples, curving subtly around the eye and pointing down towards the nose. Noticeable screws attach flat metal temples, stamped with high relief BALENCIAGA logos horizontally. BOLD frames appear so due to a recessed lens placement, combined with a wrapping construction. Their fronts come forward and outward, beyond curving lenses. A metal plaque engraved with a BB Balenciaga sits on each wide, tapering temple, acting as an extra-visible hinge.
